In honor of St. Patrick's Day, we thought it would be fun to lure some leprechauns into our house for good luck. Armed with a pair of Clara's old baby shoes and some colorful chalk, we made green footprints on the sidewalk leading into the house!
Emily told me not to forget about the rainbow. We all know how a real leprechaun can never resist the lure of a good rainbow!!
Exxxxx cellent..... all according to plan [insert hand-wringing here].
Leprechaun footprints are a lot of fun to jump on!
Wishing you a very happy (and lucky) St. Patrick's Day!!

That last picture is best! Happy St Patrick's Day!
Very cute - but it sounds like you have evil intentions, for the leprechauns.
@ An Almost Unschooling Mom -- They are very tricky, those leprechauns! I think Emily would be very nice to them though.... me, maybe not so much! They are always making a mess out of the house. Hee hee!
What fun! Happy St. Patrick's Day!
How cute!
When my girls came home from school, and I asked what they did, they said, "We talked about the pot of gold!"
I was thinking with all the hand wringing, what exactly are you luring those leprechaun into the house for? ☺ Got some fun games planned? Maybe some one on one invisible basketball?
Dear Valerie,
Let me know if you catch the wee thing.
Love,
Mark
Great pictures!!!!! i just love the last one!
These juicy colours are amazing and your family looks very happy:)
What a cute idea! My boy keeps telling me "Happy Leprechaun Day".
This is so fun! Hopefully you catch one ;)
Very cute. I'm going to have to try this next year.
Happy St. Patrick's Day!!!
Looks like a great way to catch some leprechauns!
@ mama Milenki -- I got the cheapest box of chalk pastels I could find. I think they were only $4 for the box (I had a coupon). So many colors! We'll be using them for lots more projects. I love how bright the colors turned out!!
@ jacque4u2c -- That's my fave too. I took it from our upstairs bathroom window!
@ Sadia -- That's so cute! I bet they had a great time at school today!
That is some rainbow! What kind of chalk is that and where did you find it? M would be all over making a rainbow and footprints like that. Perhaps we could do this for the Easter Bunny as well-- after all who couldn't use more chocolate?!
Very cute! I love the footprints! We were visited by a few tricky leprechauns.
@ Ivy -- They were a cheap box of chalk pastels from Dick Blick. We plan on using them for many more sidewalk "murals".... FUN!!
Your children are very lucky to have such a creative Mom! I love your ideas! Happy St. Patty's Day!
You are so much fun!!!!
I love the rainbow!
Brianna
That is very cute. It would be cute to have some green gems in some cement or something that were shaped like the footprints. Maybe leading toward a garden or something that's hiding gold coins... in a pond. :)
Can you save me some gold when they get there?
I spent the day with 20 pre-k students...building leprechaun traps. Those little guys sure are tricky!
Beautiful chalk images...looks like you had a sunny day too!
Those footprints practically glow in the dark. That is so cool.
I love her pigtails. They're so cute.
I don't think I have ever seen a house that has so much fun everyday! What a cute idea with the chalk on the sidewalk. Love the invisable basketball too!
She looks so happy, it exudes from the photos. What a fun time!
@ Megan -- Oh, that does sound like fun! I bet they all had a great time!
@ Ticia -- I think the pigtails are starting to be her signature look! I wore pigtails today too! :-)
@ Just Breathe -- That's so sweet, thank you!!
This is so adorable Valerie!
@ Brianna -- I would have loved to do the entire front walkway as a big long rainbow, but sadly, there was not enough chalk for that!
