Jell-O Finger Painted Easter Eggs

If you want to do finger painting with your kids, but worry about them getting the paint in their mouths, this is a great activity to try. Even my 9 month old had a turn at this, and loved it! We made our own finger paint using Jell-O and a little warm water. Mix the package of Jell-O with just enough water to make a finger paint consistency. Use water color paper, or other thick paper to paint.

Warning: This activity is extremely messy, or should I say STICKY! It is best done outdoors, or at the very least you will want lots of wet paper towels handy. However, it is a LOT of fun for the kiddos, and well worth the mess!

We used a muffin tin for the paint. Emily liked writing her name in sweet smelling cherry red.

When the paint has dried, cut out egg shapes and you have a sweet smelling Easter craft!

You are a brave woman to let that much sticky into your life. Good for you.

@ aprilfoolwed -- Oh, now I will have to try gloop!

@ Ivy -- Thank you! This is one of those activities that is not for the faint of heart, but it was a lot of fun!

@ Meghan -- I bet your 2 1/2 year old would really enjoy this. It combines art with mess, and what 2 1/2 year old doesn't like that combination??
