I can't believe this is already our 300th post! This morning Emily and I made an appearance on The 10! Show to talk about ways to encourage pretend play with your kids using items you already have at home. As usual, the crew spoiled the bejesus out of Emily. Can you tell she had about 3 donuts in the green room prior to our segment?
In case you missed today's show, here is the clip.
Oh Valerie, that was a GREAT segment! I think it was your best yet. Great job Emily! Her little booty dance was quite adorable. :) And I love how you put the tips for thift stores in there. So many people don't remember them when they are out looking for stuff for their kids. But kids stuff is what everybody donates!
I'm hopping over from Meghan's Mindless Mutterings blog. She posted a recipe you shared with her! Love your blog!! I'm trying to cut back on expenses, so this is a great find for me this morning! Can't wait for more!
That was so fun to see. We live in the 10! viewing area, but didn't see it. She did great and the ideas are fun and easy. As a former teacher (staying home now) it is amazing to see so many children never doing any of these types of imaginative play at home.
@ MaryAnne -- That is so cute! It felt so strange packing up Emily's toys as props, but it was so much fun!
@ Lindsey -- I know what you mean, and I find it so sad when kids are playing video games or watching lots of television instead of actively PLAYING. I really think most kids are naturally creative, but could use a little nudge sometimes. It really doesn't take much, you know? Thanks so much for stopping by!
