Extreme Makeover Child Stylist Edition

Emily loves to play hair stylist. Break out the rollers, hair brushes, hair clips, combs, and ribbon. Oh, and magazines (the trashier, the better). Sometimes I wear a ridiculously long blond wig from Halloween for this. NO SCISSORS!!!

By the way, does anyone know where I could find one of those vintage 1950's hairdryers (you know, the kind that look like you have a beehive on your head?) It doesn't need to be working....

Have fun!

Brave brave woman. I don't let my kiddo touch my hair, although now that she is older, I might let her practice braids. ;)

I used to love to do that when I was little. Our babysitter actually let my sisters and I experiment with all sorts of crazy do's! Your a good mama!

My daughter loves for me to do her hair, but I wouldn't let her touch mine (mostly because I have curls and it would HURT!). I've only see those hair dryers at antique stores. Have you tried thrift stores, Craig's list or ebay?

My grandma still uses her dryer! I thought it was the weirdest thing when I was little. Sorry, that is no help to you!

Laney does the same things to my hair!!! Oh the simple pleasures children get!

Caught your name and came over to check you out. You know what's funny I have an older sister named Emily. lol Don't know where you can find one of those hair dryers but I know my mom use to have one. Great blog!

@ Val in the Rose Garden -- It's even more interesting if you have an unexpected visitor show up at your door (i.e. mailman). Not that it has ever umm... happened to me.... um..... or anything.... I'm just saying! ;-)

@ Mama King -- Isn't it funny the things you remember from childhood? I had a neighbor friend who would let me do her hair too... so much fun! And a great exercise in trust, right?

@ Ivy -- I've never thought to look in antique stores, so I will try that next. I have tried thrift stores and Craig's list.... maybe one will turn up some day... (I hope). I'm thinking Emily would adore something like that, so it's worth trying to hunt one down. Thanks!

I'm sure Emily loves this activity! It was actually my dad who let us play with his hair growing up - he didn't have much of it (he was bald by 30), but we still managed to put clips in it.

I've seen more of them on Etsy too if you wanted to shop around. I want to get one someday too.

I love your makeover!
