While we waited for the paint to dry, we went to pick some fresh cherries at a local farm. It is the final days of cherry picking season around here, so they had reduced the price to just $2 per pound!!

Spreading Some Cheer
We thought it would be fun to spread some cheer around our neighborhood this afternoon. So we made up these darling goody bags. Emily dipped the end of a cork in some red paint to make the cherries, and I helped fill in the stems.

Wish I were your neighbor! What a great gift. Nothing beats fresh cherries, but I've never heard of pick your own cherries. That sounds fabulous!
What a nice idea! I'm sure the recipients were thrilled.
Lovely idea!
What an adorable idea! I wish we had cherries around here to pick... I guess you could do the same thing with baked goods or whatever. I'm going to file this idea away for neighbor Christmas gifts :-)

@ Sherry -- Oh, it is so much fun to go cherry picking, and we are so fortunate to have a beautiful orchard near us. The same orchard offers pick your own peaches and apples too (at different times of the year, of course). We love it!
@ Amanda -- Baked goods is another great idea! We had some neighbors who really needed a little cheering up, and Emily loved this activity very much. :-)

What a fabulous idea. We don't have a lot of berry picking farms local to us, but we could substitute making cookies.
