Easy Flower Painting

We have been enjoying these beautiful little pockets of time when Clara is taking a nap (hooray for naps!) and Emily and I find a fun project to work on. Emily enjoyed this simple painting project so much that she made two of them!

To make your own flower painting you will need: a cork, some paint, and some heavy-weight paper. Invite your child to make flower prints on the paper using the end of the cork as a stamp. The first time Emily did this, she made so many flowers they completely covered the paper! The second time she decided to focus on only three flowers, but added stems and grass to them.

She was so proud of her painting, and asked if she could show it to Clara when she wakes up!

That is so pretty! My oldest son made flowers with fingerprints when he was in Kindergarten and I still have it framed in our house (he is now starting 7th grade). I have to do this with R; she loves flowers. Thanks for the idea.

This is a cute idea, and I love that Emily wanted to show it to Clara when she woke up.

Loving your site even more each day - especially when you give me an excuse to savor a great glass of red. Haven't had any in years (been pregnant for almost 3 years), looks like you just gave me a reason to indulge.

Wish you lived closer, you would be such an amazing friend!

Hello I just found you through Teach Preschool's facebook page. I love this painting activity and it has given me an idea for this week. We had a lamb come to visit our kinder children the other day and I was after a different kind of way to paint animals and thanks to your idea I just found it ... corks! Perfect for that wooly sheep look. Thank you so much, we'll be back!
Donna :) :)
