Pillowcase Pajama Pants

Emily loves that her new pajama pants are so soft and comfy, since I made them from an old pillowcase. I used a technique very similar to the one found in The Creative Family by Amanda Blake Soule. These were made in just a few minutes! By using the existing hem on the pillowcase, I did not have to sew bottom hems for the pants -- plus I like the decorative edge. I used a pair of Emily's elastic pants as a pattern.

I'll be making a few more pairs of these!

If you don't know how to sew, but would like to learn how, you can sign up for my free online sewing workshop -- Sewing in Baby Steps! I can't believe how many of you have already signed up...Wow! It's going to be so much fun!!

Sometimes it is a bit freaky how similar we are. Seriously... I cut out Logan's pillow case PJ's today. How freaky is that? Em's turned out CUTE! I love the edging. :)

Isn't it freaky? Mine won't be posted though until next week. Must get to the 265lbs of peaches first. Did you see the tomato sauce?? It is SOOOOO good! I can't stop dipping stuff in it and eating it!

I keep sending people your way for your sewing class. :) I am sure it will be great!

@ Val in the Rose Garden -- Seriously! As if the name similarity wasn't enough!! I'm dying to try the roasted tomato sauce... boy, does that look good! We recently discovered that Clara loves dipping bread in tomato sauce and eating it. True Italian-style!

These look so fancy with the decorative edge! I love using existing hems like this. Emily looks very happy with her new PJ's =)

I love it! I've made skirts and dresses from pillowcases, but never pants. I'll have to try that.

Ok, I really want to make these ---once you teach me to sew! Btw, I got a small embroidery hoop at a garage sale and now M wants to sew everyday (she even got another little friend hooked!).

I'm counting down the days till the class. I know I'm making bags, but they are messy and I need tips to refine and ensure I'm doing things correctly. I so can't wait!!

I might have to go buy a sewing machine, and learn how to sew! I have tons of old pillowcase. I'd love to make some skirts!
