Easy Super-Cute Penguin Prints

Emily thought these penguin prints were so much fun to make! She wants to make a girly penguin so this handsome guy can have some company.

To make your own penguin prints, you will need some paint, construction paper, glue, and some googly eyes. You may want to have some baby wipes on-hand.

Begin by gluing your snowy landscape onto the background construction paper.

We went foot-loose and fancy-free for this craft! Take off your child's socks and paint the bottom of the foot as shown.

Make the foot print on the paper, (use those baby wipes to wipe down the foot), and use a paintbrush to add a beak to your penguin.

Emily dipped her finger in some black paint to add the penguin's wings.

Add a googly eye, and have your child sign this beautiful artwork to hang proudly in your home!

Dear Valerie,

I'm surprised that Emily was able to let you paint her foot. I would have thought that all of the giggling would make the paint fall off!

Love,
Mark

@ Mark -- I think she still has the hiccups.

Well, I have one little girl who just loves footprints. It's me who can't stand the mess, but baby wipes sound like a good idea.

Oh, I am a huge fan of footprint crafts AND this is perfect because we have been reading a few penguin books and we did a penguin craft too. See my post tomorrow!

I forgot to mention how cute Emily's penguin is, and I love the photo of her painted foot. I always take those photos too.

Also, Mark, I had to google Eat N Park. I had never heard of it, but I enjoyed browsing their site! Yum! AND, frosting on those snowman cookies would be delicious.

Foot print crafts are so fun. I've done them when I've taken classes with the kids, but haven't done them at home in years. Thanks for the reminder.

Sounds fun but dangerous. I would definitely get inadvertently kicked during the process. But we like living dangerously here at the King household :-)

Came out very cute!

That's so cute, I've always made handprint penguins because it's way too much trouble to do footprints with a whole class of kindergarteners. I do footprint ghosts for the October page of the calendars they made for Christmas gifts and that was enough. This little guy is cute enough to try with my own E.

Good on you Val. Can't imagine how you got Emily to sit still to paint her foot. Great idea to continue the penguin theme. GO PENS!

Hahaha! That looks so cute. I bet it was so fun too!. I did footprint painting one time with a large group of preschoolers. They loved it but it wore me out:)

My family is all from Pittsburgh, so we're Penguins fans. For an Xmas gift for my brother, I did something similar with the girls.

Once the penguins dried, I cut them out and mounted them on light cardboard and then put magnetic tape on the back so my brother can use them as refridgerator magnets.

He loved them!! (That reminds me I need to make more!)

Very adorable. You could probaby use a pinky fingerprint for the beak and lose the brushes completely, too?

VERY cute! We just did a foot print craft too! I have it on my blog: www.hiphickchick.blogspot.com

I have seen a cute penguin project using a potato, but I LOVE the foot one! I will be adding that to our list of things to try!
