To make your own peace dove handprint, you will need: white paint, orange and blue construction paper, glue, and a paint brush. Oh yes, and a hand!
First, dip your child's hand into some white paint.
Press onto blue construction paper with fingers closed and thumb extended.
Add a beak....
....and some wings.....
Happy Martin Luther King, Jr. Day!!

That turned out really pretty! My kids love anything having to do with messy handprints so they'd probably love this.
Peace, what a wonderful thing.
Dear Valerie,
GOBBLE GOBBLE!
Love,
Mark
Very cool!
I've never seen a hand dove. How cool is that?!
that is spectacular!
cute!
So pretty. I love this.
That's a very creative idea and a great way to discuss MLK and give tribute. Fab!
@ Stephanie -- Messy handprints are a lot of fun, aren't they? Clara would have enjoyed this too, I think, but she was spending some quality time with Mark while all of this was going on.
@ Mark -- Are you implying that our peace dove resembles a distant relative of the albino turkey?? I have no idea what you're talking about.
I love this - I am so behind on reading your blog! Look what I missed out on!
