Psychedelic Snowman Sculpture

Who says you can only build a snowman outdoors? And while we're at it... why can't he be a bit more colorful?

After gathering some snow from outside, we made our sculptures with it....

...and we brightened up our designs using some sheets of bleeding art tissue paper! [Note: This is different from regular tissue paper.]

Our snowman was treated to a psychedelic makeover!

Groovy, man.... Groovy!

To add some color to the snow outdoors, mix some food coloring with water in a squirt bottle like we did here. Have fun!!

Dear Valerie,

My last carrot! It's gone!

Love,

@ Mommy Moment -- Oh no! That is terrible!! Mine are backed up, but I still FREAK out about that happening. I hope you can recover yours soon!

@ maryanne -- I couldn't resist some of this fun myself! Instead of a snowman, mine was a psychedelic igloo. Lots of fun!

@ Mark -- *crunch* Yummy! ;-)

This is funny I was thinking about doing the exact same thing. Well with food coloring anyway. I love your blog you have great ideas (and apparently sometimes read my mind. :)

too cute! maybe we'll try it with some of our leftover snow since we are sick of actually playing in it outdoors!

What a fun boredom buster - if only we had some snow!

@ An Almost Unschooling Mom -- I will gladly send some your way. We are buried in the stuff!

How long does a snowman last indoors? (I guess it depends how frugal you are with your heat...at my Grannie's house, that snowman would be groovin' until Spring arrived...)

A fun way to build a snowman without freezing while you do it. Great idea.

I love that idea! Heck, I just love the idea of snow, being an Aussie! LOL. But it looks like so much fun

This is very cool! I still have a ton of that bleeding tissue paper and I have yet to use it. All of our snow washed away this week, but maybe we will get more.

I so need to get that bleeding tissue paper. I think this every time you use it, so why haven't I gotten some yet?

I don't think I would have ever thought to do a snowman indoors. I remember when Amber was younger she stored a snowball in the freezer for.ever. :)

Thought I should tell you ER has been asking to see the colorful snowman, at least daily since you posted this☺
