Rainbow Slides

On the drive back from the Pancreatic Cancer Symposium last weekend, we were so lucky to spot a fantastic rainbow!! (A sign I took as a good omen!) Emily remarked that she wished she could slide down the rainbow, and I thought that was a great idea!

First, take some photos of the kids pretending to go down a super-fun rainbow slide! Ya-hoo!!!

Cut up some small pieces of colored paper to make your rainbow mosaic picture. We focused on one color at a time. This was great cutting practice for Emily! And it's a good exercise for fine-motor skills too!

Clara was soooo happy to see the glue!!

Glue on the cut-out photo, and admire your FUN artwork!! Emily thinks Clara's picture is soooo funny!

Weeeeeeeee!!!

We also found that leftover confetti makes for some fun pixie dust!

Have fun!!

Please help send me to Vermont for the Stonyfield Barnstorming Tour by voting for me here! As an added bonus, if I make the top 3, Stonyfield will make a $5000 donation to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network. ((fingers crossed!))

You are allowed one vote per day per valid email address, and voting ends TOMORROW @ noon EST.

Thank you, thank you, thank you to everyone who is voting for me!! I truly appreciate it!

Dear Valerie,

Clara's picture reminds me of when she ate fruit loops when she was first introduced to big girl cereal.

Love Mark

Adorable idea. You must spend allot of money at supply stores!

Very cute. I love all of the fun things you do with pictures.

@ Mark -- There's no turning back now, is there?

@ Just Breathe -- Construction paper and glue are very inexpensive, but the printer cartridges can be pricey. We order ours from monoprice.com and they are much cheaper there!

@ Christy -- Thank you!!

I loved the end result - I could see our rainbow having about 3 pieces glued in though. Somehow mosaics is yet to see success in our house :)

@ MaryAnne -- Thank you! Emily loves pretending with these photos, but it surprised me when Clara got into it too!! We had a lot of fun! :-)

@ Eileen -- You're welcome! Thank you for stopping by! :-)

@ Emily -- I still can't believe you are leaving comments on Mommy's blog already!!!!

@ Ticia -- That sounds like a GREAT project! Can't wait to hear more about it!

@ Anna -- Seems like that is how we get the majority of our ideas around here! It is a lot of fun!!

@ Raising a Happy Child -- I don't think Clara would have done the mosiac part if Emily wasn't there doing the project right along with her. Of course, she tries so hard to keep up with her big sister!

@ An Almost Unschooling Mom -- Funny! It had that effect on me too, but all we had were Reese's Pieces.... still YUMMY! LOL

@ Erin -- There was plenty of giggling here... have fun!!!

Valerie I enjoy seeing all the crafts you come up with. I have started saving the inside of envelops that come in the mail from bills....I noticed they have some really different designs on them. Have you ever thought of using them and for what?

Oh my goodness, I think this is great! I bet these would make wonderful cards too. I know a certain little girl who would love to spend her afternoon doing this, :-)
