Everything we needed to make the bubble wands came from the hardware store -- eye hooks, wooden dowels, butcher's twine, and a washer. That's it!!
A game of bubble tag just never gets old!
Special thanks to Childhood Magic for the inspiration behind today's Sunday Snapshot!
I don't know who had more fun....... us, or the kids??
Wishing everyone a wonderful weekend!!

@ brookie -- My 2 year old thought this was a BLAST!! Have fun!! :-)
@ Childhood Magic -- It's fantastic!!! xoxo :-)
I had a giant bubble wand when I was a kid. I had no idea that you could make one. What fun! Thanks for the information. I'll have to try it!
Did you use store bought bubbles or make your own? If you made them, will you post the recipe?
Thanks!!
@ Marie -- We used homemade bubble solution. To make your own mega bubble solution, you will need: 6 cups distilled water, 2 cups Joy dishwashing detergent, 5-6 drops of glycerin. Very simple and they work very well!! Have FUN!! :-)
@ Crafty Auntie Creates -- We've made Spring Shaped Bubble Wands before too! --> Instructions to Make Your Own Here.
Wow. Those bubbles look awesome. Thanks for sharing it.
Looks amazing - we definitely need to try this!
Pretty.
@ Raising a Happy Child -- They are so much fun! We're taking the bubble wands and solution to my parents house to try making some there too. It never gets old! :-)
@ MaryAnne -- You will have so much fun!! (And so will the kids...) ;-)

It's on my summer must-do list, but I can see I'm going to have to move it right to the top. Those bubbles are amazing!

we went to a mad science party where they did this... did you know that if you add 3 tablespoons of salt to the bubble mic it makes bigger bubbles? too cool!!!

We will be trying this for sure! I am curious to know if you made your won bubble mixture or if you used a store bought one? If you made it yourself, do you mind sharing your recipe? I have not been able to find a great homemade recipe on line!
Thanks,
Tricia
ME again. I just came across the link to a bubble recipe on the Childhood Magic website. I will try that recipe.
Thanks,
Tricia
this looks so cool!

Great timing on this post today. Also checked out the posting on Childhood Magic.
Spent our morning making bubble sticks and using them. To see our results you can watch our posting at ~http://countryfun.edublogs.org/2010/07/19/summer-science/
@ Pip -- Thank you so much!! That's so sweet of you and it totally made my day! xoxo :-)
@ Tricia Orchard -- We made our own bubble solution, as we have many times before. I think it works a lot better than store bought. Just some water, Joy detergent, and a few drops of glycerin. Have fun!!
@ A Crafter and Artist -- Wow!! Looks like you guys had a blast too! That makes me VERY happy! :-)
Love this idea! I can not wait to try it! Thansk for sharing - Amazing photos! Thanks so much for joining the Sunday Showcase. Hope you have a wonderful week! ~ Stephanie Lynn
Oh my, what large bubbles!
That does look like awesome fun. I was all in 'til I read you said glycerin. I'm assuming I can find that at Michael's??? Gosh, it sucks being lazy. Can I send my kids to visit you for a few weeks. You can have a frugal summer camp. Five to 10 kids two weeks at a time. :-D We'll be your first to test out the camp for you.
the laughter of my kids makes me happy
