Cheap Thrills -- Indoor Hopscotch

It was far too cold outside to run around and play. Instead, we made a hopscotch grid in our foyer using masking tape on the floor!

The girls got lots of exercise! (I did too.)

We have slate flooring in our foyer, so Emily practiced writing her numbers with chalk. You could also add the numbers with masking tape, if chalk is not an option.

Jump, jump, jump!!

So much fun, and sooooo frugal!

Dear Valerie,

I eagerly await the day you figure out how to make a "mop and wax the kitchen floor" game.

Love,
Mark

Cute idea. This is much more frugal than the hopscotch rugs I have seen in stores.

Valerie, You sure do have a lot of energy to keep up with your girls. How do you do it? I like this idea. I wish my younger kids had a playroom like my oldest daughter did when she was their age. I could put that down and just leave it for ongoing fun. You rock! ... Oh and I'm waiting for that mop and wax game too. You'll have to share that one! :)

What fun! And great thinking to draw with chalk on your slate floor!

Just found your blog and I love it! Since I just stopped working outside the home we could definately use some frugal fun ideas. I just started my own blog and I hope to use some of your creative ideas soon!

I loved playing hop scotch when I was little. We use to play before school in the front yard of our house when I was in elementary school.

We are great fans of hopscotch too. What other chalk games do you enjoy with your kiddos?

I used to love to play hopscotch as a child. They don't put them on playgrounds anymore. What a great idea. Looks like you had a blast.
